Hawaiian Cowrie Shells

A truly classic shell. Cowrie shells are known for their beautiful colors and glossy finish. Hawai’i is home to many endemic cowry shell types ranging from very common to extremely rare and small to big! Half cowrie shells are commonly used in jewelry because it displays the beautiful “lips” of the cowrie shells with a flat surface to seamlessly lay on your skin!

Note: Here at Salt & Water Co., we NEVER keep shells with live creatures inhibiting inside the shell. If we pick up a shell and notice it is full, we gently place it back into its original habitat. We strongly believe in giving back to the beautiful place we call home while upholding ethical practices, which means that whichever shells and beach treasure that we do not end up using in our designs, are later returned to the place they were originally found.
