Hawaiian Cone Shells

A classic shell. Cone shells are very common in Hawai’i, the Pacific, and warm ocean waters. Commonly known for its diverse variations, these shells can possess poisonous or fatal venom when alive. Puka shells are the tops of various cone shells broken off from tumbling in the ocean and waves. They are commonly used in Hawaiian shell jewelry and known for its versatile look and circular shape.

Note: Here at Salt & Water Co., we NEVER keep shells with live creatures inhibiting inside the shell. Please be very careful when picking up cone shells in the ocean and always pick up the shell from the back end first when examining whether a shell is full or empty. If we pick up a shell and notice it is full, we gently place it back into its original habitat. We strongly believe in giving back to the beautiful place we call home while upholding ethical practices, which means that whichever shells / beach treasure that we do not end up using in our designs, are later returned to the place they were originally found.
